Last Post Before #NaNoWriMo Starts

Dear all,

This will be the last post before I start NaNoWriMo. My Aussie countdown tells me this is 1 day and 13 hours away! It’s getting super close.

I’m getting excited as well as nervous. How are you all coping? What techniques are you using to prepare yourself mentally as well as getting your story ready for NaNo?

~

What I am doing to prepare for NaNo:

  1. I got rid of the husband. (He has gone to India for a month – Medical Student) = Quiet house
  2. Got my roster changed to afternoon shifts so I can write in the morning or late at night.
  3. Got a plan for my novel.
  4. Spent ages stewing the novel (Which has really helped my novel construction skills)
  5. Read James Scott Bell’s Plot and Structure – Possibly the best novel writing book ever.
  6. Re-read the above book
  7. Changed my story structure and re plotted cursing my insane naivety all the way
  8. Read some great books to get me in the mood
  9. Told as many people as I can that I HAVE to write 50,000 words this November
  10. Waiting waiting waiting for November 1st to roll around.

I’m not waiting very patiently though – I Just want to start!

So tell me what you are doing to prepare for NaNo?
How are you planning on tackling this beastie?
Most of all, GOOD LUCK

OFFICIAL BLOG LAUNCH DAY *yahs*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY  – New Blog Born Today!

Well, how excited am I. Today is the official day that I am declaring the new “Precocious Scribe” open for business. I still have some tweaking to do. Some links that are not right, the info isn’t all over from the old “Precocious Scribe” on blogger. I am certainly short on the old content.

BUT:

It is online :-)

Please show your support for the new blog and change over your RSS feeds. Click the subscribe to RSS buttons and re-add the new site. As this is now a WP self-hosted blog your feeds have changed.

I would also really appreciate it if you could show your support for the new site! –> Click the FB follow or Networked Blogs follow, and/or leave a message on the site.

That way I know you are all finding your way here well enough.

If you find major catastrophes on the site, I won’t mind you letting me know, in fact I will be very thankful.

Many thanks,

Sarah Ketley

Dear Campaigners,

As part of my Write Campaign as hosted by Rachael Harrie, I have decided to show some #authorlove and purchase some of my fellow #write campaigners books.

If you haven’t read my policy on #authorlove (It’s not real hard) Check out this page on my site and have a look.

2. You must leave me a short submission on why I should buy your book. (Synopsis or other reason why I should buy your book.)

3. You need to leave the link TO YOUR AMAZON KINDLE “Buy it Now” page. (Not a link to your blog, or smashwords site.) –> I buy my books via Amazon Kindle. Please make it super easy for me to find and buy your book.

4. Leave an email address so I can let you know you have won. I may even send you an email review or something.

5. Give us your name so we all know who is just awesome!

That is is!

Easy

Please Note: I have changed the links, however, I transcribed all entries to this form already so I havn’t lost any entries :-)

Non-Campaign authors:-)

If you wish to be cheeky and add your name to the list, I may still buy your book - However priority will be given to Write Campaign Authors at all times.

Um… You have already bought my book…

A few of you will know i have already bought your book. Add it to the list and I will mark you as a finalist anyway.

If I have not added a review/liked it on amazon I will do this.

How do I win?

  2. Like me on Facebook  or Networked Blogs will give you extra points
  3. Spread the word about the competition (put this linky list on your blog??) Tweet/G+
  4. I will choose books I am interested in and/or books of people that participate well in #writecampaign/show #authorlove.

What do you get out of it?

  1. I buy your book –>A sale
  2. I write reviews –> Possibly a review
  3. If you want I can give you feedback in private
  4. I may showcase your book on one of my blogs:-)

What do I get out of it?

  1. A new book to read
  2. Make some new friends
  3. Help out some fellow authors.

So sign up to win! Don’t forget to put your link to you book on Amazon. If you have LOTS OF BOOKS on amazon, feel free to link to your author page on Amazon where lots of your books are listed. OR if you have time, you can add an entry for EACH AND EVERY BOOK you have :-)

If you don’t have Amazon, you can still enter, I might just have more difficulties buying your book.

Other Social Media:
I Tweet about writing on twitter at sarahketley
My Writing Blog is The Precocious Scribe where i write about issues that face me as a new writer/blogger as well as tips and tricks.

Other Hobbies:
I am learning to horse ride, and i am also a keen embroidery. Currently working on a piece of the Bayeux Tapestry.
Finally I am really involved in research my Family Tree and I love combing old records…
Oh did i mention Medieval sword-fighting and costuming:-)

Personal:
I have just got married, and just graduated as a registered nurse and working at the local hospital.

Welcome Post

Dear Readers,

Welcome to my writer’s blog. This blog is a replacement for my current writing blog The Precocious Scribe. I will eventually be updating this blog as regularly as The Precocious Scribe, however for the moment it is on hold until i get if fully functional. This blog will have posts relating to my journey as a writer and as a bit of a resource for new writing bloggers.

Thank you for your patience as I do the site upgrades, and please pop back later on to see the changes.
